TRAFFIC AND CONSTRUCTION

The Minnesota Department of Transportation will resurface and make repairs to the Interstate 94 bridge in southwest St. Cloud in Stearns County. Drivers will encounter reduced speeds and one-lane traffic, in each direction. The work begins Wednesday, Aug. 31, and is expected to be completed in mid-October.
The closure of northbound lanes will also close Exit 220/Carlton County Road 6 and a detour will be posted, MnDOT said.
Initial work will include construction of median crossovers in preparation for two-way, head-to-head traffic traveling southbound on I-35.
The project will resurface concrete on northbound I-35 near Barnum and require traffic to travel head-to-head in the southbound lanes.
Traffic can travel through Highway 210 via a single lane controlled by a signal, but there is no access to Highway 73.
The time between Memorial Day and Labor Day is a high-travel period, marking the 100 most dangerous days each year to be on or near the road.
