The Carlton County Stampede, a semiprofessional football team, will soon host a trio of home games at Jim Erickson Field in Carlton on Saturday, June 8, 15 and 22, with kickoffs at 4 p.m.
Semiprofessional football is an offseason organization for non-paid players over the age of 18. The first-year Stampede (0-3), a member of the eight-team Midwest Premier Football League, has been outscored 154-0 thus far, but is looking forward to their string of home events against the Twin Cities Rhinos, Minnesota Sting and Twin Cities Titans.
According to general manager Christopher King, Dewey Dupuis Jr. and J.R. Blackwell are among league leaders for the Stampede -- made of about 50 players -- entering Saturday's game (June 1) at Brainerd.
Admission for all home games is $5 per ticket at the front ticket booth, and concessions are available.
