Brenna McClarey hit a two-run home run and Amanda Paul struck out 11 in five innings to earn the pitching win as Cloquet edged Virginia 5-3 for the Lumberjacks’ fifth-straight victory in high school softball Monday night at Braun Park.

Allie Jones pitched the final two innings to get the save for Cloquet (5-1).

Chance Colbert was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI to lead Virginia.

South Ridge 7, Silver Bay 5

Svea Snickers was 3x4 with a run and three RBIs to lead the host Panthers.

Adella Olesiak allowed only one earned run in seven innings to get the win, with nine strikeouts to just two walks.

Mary Lisc was 2-for-3 with a double, run and RBI and teammate Olivia Spikeberg was 2-for-4 for South Ridge while Hope Ernest was 4-for-4 with a run and RBI to lead Silver Bay.
