Head coach: Steve Battaglia

Assistant coaches: Andrew Miller, Dave Battaglia, Mason Brenner and Tom Brenner

Returning starters: Kollin Bonneville and Marco Mayorga.

New Faces: Reese Sheldon, Jordan Aultman, Izaiah Carrier, Seth Rothamel, Joe Bailey, Malachi Bridge, Jack Battaglia, Trenton Schmidt and Max Sundquist.

Team Strengths: "Leadership — we've got a good group of seniors that will help lead our inexperienced group of young kids. Our kids also know how to win — most of our players were either playing in the state soccer tournament or the section finals for football," coach Steve Battaglia said. "I also think we could be a team that plays nine or 10 kids ... which would be deeper than we typically go."

Biggest Challenge: "Inexperience — we need our seniors to lead and we need our juniors and sophomores to contribute consistently," Battaglia said.

Goals and expectations: "We need to take the long view — there will be growing pains early, but we want to put ourselves in a position to play in a section final come March," Battaglia said. "There's a lot of work to do, but I think we can round into a dangerous team by tournament time."

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
