CLOQUET — With only one senior on the inaugural 2022 Cloquet Pine Journal All-Area Baseball Team, the list of selections is dominated by a pair of juniors and three underclassmen.

Esko had the most selections highlighted by junior Cale Haugen, the All-Area Player of the Year. He's joined by his brother, freshman Sam Haugen, along with sophomores Finn Furcht and Isaak Sertich.

Rounding out the remaining three spots are juniors Kollin Bonneville (Cloquet) and Barnum's Caleb Hautajarvi. Henry Ribich of Moose Lake-Willow River is the lone senior on the team.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
