Prep girls swimming: 'Jacks fall to Superior
Cloquet-Esko-Carlton won six events at the meet.
Cloquet-Esko-Carlton's Megan Chopskie won the 50-yard freestyle race and was a member of two winning relay teams, but Superior edged the Lumberjacks 98-88 in a Lake Superior Conference meet Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Superior High School.
Chopskie finished the 50-yard freestyle with a time 27.28 seconds and won the 50-yard backstroke in 1:12.03. Chopskie was also on the Lumberjacks' winning 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams.
CEC's Hannah Sandman also picked up a win in the 200 freestyle race with a time of 2:09.82 and joined Chopskie on the freestyle relay teams.
Superior's Kaelyn DeRoche led the Spartans with wins in the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke races and was a member of the winning 200 medley relay teams.
