The City of Moose Lake has been awarded a $600,000 from the Minnesota Department of Transportation Local Partnership Program.

This grant will fund a walking and bicycling path from the bridge over the Moose River, along Minnesota Highway 73 to the roundabout, and south along County Road 10 to the new school.

The paved, 10-foot-wide, two-lane path will provide safe walking and biking access to students, residents and the region. With the construction of the school in its new location, safe access has been a priority for the city and school for many years.

To further fund this project, the city will continue to seek grant dollars through the Safe Routes to School program. The city will be seeking letters of support for its grant submission.
