The low pressure system will continue to drop heavy snow over the southern half of Minnesota and parts of Wisconsin Friday night. This winter storm does appear to be out of the area for most by the time we wake on Saturday morning. Some places in eastern SD could end up with upwards of 10" while Minnesota could see a large swath of 2-6" with some areas picking up even more.
We'll wake cool, but not as cold as some of our other mornings this last week. Temperatures Saturday morning will range from 20s to some 30s and even some teens. I'm seeing the clouds decrease behind this winter storm leaving us with some sunshine to kick off the day Saturday.
Expect a quieter day Saturday behind the winter storm. Highs will stay cool, but we'll get to melting some of the snow - especially those who had bare ground before this storm passed through. Saturday may stay a little breezy throughout the day as well.
Sunday will feature a wide range of temperatures. Some in southern South Dakota through Southern Minnesota and Wisconsin will peak in the mid-50s! The rest will be a little warmer than recently, but most of the heat will go into melting the snow pack in place.
