The Cloquet-Esko-Carlton boys hockey team's bid for home ice in the upcoming Section 7AA playoffs took a hit Thursday night in a 3-0 road loss to St.Michael-Albertville.
The ’Jacks started slowly, falling behind 2-0 in a first period which saw them limited to three shots on goal. CEC finished with 19 for the night but could not find the net.
Eric Newman stopped 20 of 23 shots in goal.
Last Thursday night, Koby Bender and Christian Pritchett fired CEC to a 2-1 win at Superior's Wessman Arena.
Bender's power-play goal made it 1-0 in the first period but Pritchett scored a shorthanded goal with 1:26 remaining in the game which proved to be the game-winner.
