Five players scored and Max Scott had three assists to lead the North Iowa Bulls to a 5-1 victory over the Minnesota Wilderness in their North American Hockey League season opener Wednesday as part of the 18th annual NAHL Showcase Sept. 15-18 at the Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota.

Michael Mesic and Ryan Coughlin each had a goal and two assists for the Bulls, who outshot Minnesota 31-24, while goalie Carsen Stokes had 23 saves.

Charlie Erickson of Two Harbors scored the Wilderness’ lone goal at 8:12 in the third but the Bulls answered with a pair of goals later in the period to put it away.

Jacob Zacharewicz added 26 saves for the Wilderness, who will play four regular-season games in four days as part of the Showcase.
