The Bismarck Bobcats jumped out to a three-goal lead in the first period and defeated the Minnesota Wilderness 5-2 on Friday in an NAHL game at Northwoods Credit Union Arena in Cloquet.
The Bobcats made it 4-0 midway through the second period. Minnesota's Aaron Myers ended the shutout with a goal at 13:03 of the second on an assist from Blake Holmes, and the Wilderness' Lewis Crosby pulled the team within two on a short-handed goal at 45 seconds of the third on an assist from Tyler Watkins.
A Bobcat empty netter with 12 seconds left closed the door.
The teams play again at 7:05 p.m. Saturday in Cloquet.
