Chippewa's Connor Szmul scored at 3:18 of overtime and the Steel defeated the Minnesota Wilderness 3-2 on Saturday at the Chippewa Area Ice Arena in Chippewa Falls, Wis.

Trailing 2-1 late in the third, the Wilderness' Aaron Myers tied the game at 16:43 on assists from Nate Horn and Kimball Johnson. Bram Scheerer scored Minnesota's first goal at 4:43 of the first on assists from Garrett Worth and Blake Holmes.

Wilderness goalie Isak Johnson had 32 saves.
