Garrett Worth scored two goals and the Minnesota Wilderness never trailed in a 5-3 win over the Chippewa Steel on Friday at the Chippewa Area Ice Arena in Chippewa Falls, Wis.
Worth opened the scoring on an assist from Bram Scheerer at 6:49 of the first period, and Nate Horn scored on a helper from Aaron Miles at 11:17 of the first.
The Steel made it a one-goal game with a power play goal in the first but Worth scored his own power play goal at 10:30 of the second on an assist from Jacob Herter.
The Wilderness led 3-2 after two but put the game out of reach when Zane Demsey scored on an assist from Ryan Nelson at 8:22 of the third, and Tyler Watkins scored on an assist from Myers at 11:50 for a 5-2 lead.
The teams play again at 7:10 p.m. Saturday in Chippewa Falls.
