Kimball Johnson (Coppell, Texas), scored the only shootout goal to complete a wild 7-6 victory for the Minnesota Wilderness over the Minot Minotauros in North American Hockey League action Friday, Oct. 4, at Northwoods Arena in Cloquet.
Minot led 4-2 after two periods before Nate Horn (Elk River, Minn.) scored twice in an 83-second span to tie the game and give him a hat trick. Hermantown's Jacob Herter put the Wilderness up 5-4 at the 10:59 mark.
Sam Skinner tied it for Minot at 15:56 before Hermantown's Tyler Watkins netted his fourth goal of the season at 18:20. The Wilderness couldn't hold the lead, however, as the Minotauros' Kevin Ness equalized with 47 seconds remaining.
The teams met again late Saturday, Oct. 5, with Minnesota dominating Minot 5-1.
