Conservation Officer Jacob Willis (Brookston) saw very good compliance with the ice shelter removal date deadline throughout the station. Ice conditions have deteriorated rapidly, and access any way but on foot has become difficult. Willis also continued investigating a big-game case.
CO Scott Staples (Carlton) spent time assisting in training new dogs for the DNR and other agencies. K9 Schody was called to assist another agency for a missing suicidal person believed to have been in the woods. The person was located prior to their arrival.
CO Dustie Speldrich (Willow River) assisted the sheriff’s office with a call regarding a domestic assault. She patrolled local lakes and received a complaint of a wolf hanging out next to a residence.
