Cloquet 12AA baseball team qualifies for state

Cloquet's 12AA traveling baseball brought home the first place trophy in the Eagan Summer Classic Tournament recently and will now move on to state competition.

Cloquet's 12AA traveling baseball brought home the first place trophy in the Eagan Summer Classic Tournament recently and will now move on to state competition.

After defeating Red Wing and Bloomington in pool play, Cloquet defeated Lakeville, Northfield and finally Lake Elmo in the championship round.

Next up was the Burnsville Invitational where Cloquet defeated Edina, Woodbury and Eastview in pool play. Then they defeated Burnsville, Northfield, and lost in the championship game in extra innings to Shakopee.

In the last 11 games, the Cloquet team has a combined record of 10 wins and one loss.

With their wins, the team has now qualified for State, which will be held in Eagan July 16-18.
