Cloquet came out firing on all cylinders as the Lumberjacks cruised past Barnum for a 78-43 home win Monday, Jan. 13.
The Cloquet defense was as sharp as it has been all season, with the Lumberjack players tipping passes and creating fast break opportunities off turnovers.
The Lumberjacks started fast, building a 23-5 lead off 14 points by junior Adam Schneider and forcing Barnum coach Rich Newman to call two timeouts in the first seven minutes of play.

The Bombers responded with a 9-3 run of its own to cut the Cloquet lead to 12 with about eight minutes to play.
Cloquet adjusted and finished the half strong, extending the lead to 40-19 at halftime.
The Lumberjacks continued to build on the lead after the half, with Schneider leading the way with 25 points. Markus Pokornowski added 17 points for Cloquet and Dylan Heehn scored 13.
Senior Blaze Hurst led Barnum with 17 points, but no other Bomber scored more than six points in the game.
