Hakamaki commits to UMD

Cromwell-Wright junior guard Taya Hakamaki announced her commitment to play basketball at Minnesota Duluth via Twitter on Thursday, April 11.

Hakamaki, who averaged 25 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals per game this season, was a Class A All-State selection for the Section 7A runner-up Cardinals (24-2).

"I am blessed to announce my commitment to further my education and play basketball at the University of Minnesota Duluth," Hakamaki posted.

She will join the Bulldogs for the 2020-21 season.
