Baseball preview: Cloquet inexperienced, but strong in defense, fielding

The Lumberjacks look to have strong fielding and defense, but return just two starters.

Head coach: Tyler Olin

Assistant coaches: Luke Olin, Cody Salo, Zach Johnson

Returning starters: Jack Sorenson, Zach Tyman

New faces to watch: Seniors Joe Baker, Hayden Flovick, Carsen Psyck, Sean Sarkela and Grant Werhan.

First game: April 12 at home vs. Eveleth-Gilbert

Team strengths: Fielding and defense, according to coach Tyler Olin.

Biggest challenge: Cloquet has a new coaching staff and will have several new players on the field this season, Olin said.

Coach's assessment

"It’s been very nice having the option to get outside right away," Olin said. "We should be playing games soon and get a feel for where we are at, but our guys have been working hard already and are excited to get started."
