The 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China, officially called the XXIV Olympic Winter Games, will be contested this month. The 2022 Winter Olympics are scheduled to include a record 109 events over 15 disciplines in seven sports.
During the 2018 Olympics, Norway captured more medals than any other country, winning 39 (including 14 gold) in South Korea. Germany won 31 medals (14 gold) while Canada tallied 29 medals (11 gold) and the U.S. finished fourth among countries with 23 (9 gold).

The development comes two weeks after the U.S. Justice Department said it will stand by its prior decision not to file criminal charges against former FBI agents accused of botching the investigation into Nassar in 2015.
