Jasper Timm scored 27 points and put back a rebound at the buzzer to give Duluth Marshall a 71-69 boys basketball nonconference win at Ely on Monday night.

The Hilltoppers trailed by nine points at halftime before outscoring the Timberwolves 37-26 in the final 18 minutes.

Brock Latourell led Ely with 30 points and hit eight 3-pointers.

Two Harbors 65, LCA 64

Clark Nelson’s putback at the buzzer gave the host Agates the one-point nonconference win over the Lions.

Lance Puffer netted 32 points for Lakeview Christian Academy.

Deer River 95, Barnum 82

Sam Rahier scored a game-high 29 points and hit seven of the Warriors’ 16 3-pointers in the nonconference win at Barnum.

Duluth Marshall 72, Ely 38

The visiting Hilltoppers set up a big Lake Superior Conference matchup with Proctor by downing the Timberwolves by 34 points.

Gianna Kneepkens scored 25 points to pace Marshall (12-1), which travels to Proctor (15-1) tonight.

Duluth East 73, Cloquet 40

Ashlynne Guenther scored 20 points to lead four Greyhounds in double figures at Cloquet.

Goaltender Maureen Dwyer stopped all 32 shots she faced and Maren Friday’s first-period power-play goal was the difference in the Hilltoppers’ win at Sartell-St. Stephen.
