Nate Horn's first goal of the night forced overtime late in the third period, and his second tally came 28 seconds into overtime as the visiting Minnesota Wilderness won their third straight North American Hockey League game Friday, March 29, 5-4 over the Minot (N.D.) Minotauros.
The teams traded the lead back and forth until Brennan Couet and Keenan Lund scored successive goals early in the third to give Minot a 4-3 lead. Taylor Lantz, a former Greenway standout, assisted on Lund's goal.
Horn then notched his 13th and 14th goals of the season.
In the second period, Minnesota Duluth commit and ex-Hermantown defenseman Darian Gotz netted his first NAHL score.
Minot 5, MN Wilderness 1
The Wilderness closed out their NAHL regular-season road schedule with a 5-1 loss to the Minotauros on Saturday, March 30, in Minot.
Minnesota's Nick Portz scored the first goal of the game, 3:53 into the first period.
But it was all Minot afterward, with Fritz Belisle, Wilmer Skoog and David Raisanen scoring in the second period and Sam Skinner and Justin Kelley tacking on third-period goals. Lantz assisted on the first goal.
Ben Garrity stopped 16 shots in goal for Minot, while Kaleb Johnson saved 31 for the Wilderness.
