Prep cross-country preview: 'Jacks look to keep momentum rolling

Coming off a strong track season, the Lumberjacks continued to train over the summer for the 2021 cross-country season, coach Chandra Allen said; first meet is Thursday, Aug. 26 at Chub Lake in Carlton.

Head coach: Chandra Allen

Returning starters:

  • Boys: Miles Fischer, Jake Mertz, Sam Buytaert, Cale Prosen, Ben Sanders
  • Girls: Amelia Allen, Victoria Nelson, Charlotte Ripp, Elise Cawcutt, Lily Summar, Madysen Waters, Mary Kayser, Harmony Tracy

New faces to watch:

  • Boys: Calvin Snesrud, Brody Anderson, Alex Zeegan
  • Girls: Alexa Shepherd

Team strengths: "They are coming off a strong track season and many have continued to train in the summer," head coach Chandra Allen said.


Biggest challenge: Staying health and injury free, according to Allen.

Coach's assessment

"We have a great group of returning runners and a great group of new runners," Allen said. "They are all looking forward to this season and getting able to run on some of the courses we ran on in 2019 as well as running at a couple of new meets."
