An Appleton, Minnesota, man who was injured Oct. 18 in a collision at the intersection of Minnesota Highway 4 and Minnesota Highway 19 in Fairfax succumbed to his injuries Nov. 4.
Blair Anderson, 69, of Fairfax, Minnesota, died from his injuries after a large branch from a tree struck him while he was cutting down several trees at a farm southwest of Olivia.

The body of Matthew James Wrobleski, 48, of Willmar, was discovered Sunday afternoon in a log jam between Franklin and Morton. Authorities also identified apparent drowning victim Lance Edward Scheer, 19, of Redwood Falls, who was pulled from the water after he had been swimming in the river near Vicksburg Park. Both incident are under investigation.

Members of the Olivia community gathered Friday evening near where Isaac Hoff, 13, was killed early Thursday morning, to remember, grieve and try to understand how such a thing could happen. Hoff was killed after being stabbed, allegedly by his mother's boyfriend. Houston Morris has been charged with three felony counts of second-degree murder.

A 13-year-old boy died of a stab wound after being transported to the Olivia Hospital and Clinic on Thursday morning. His mother is recovering from injuries. A man known to the victim is in custody.
The Minnesota Court of Appeals agrees with environmental groups that the Renville County waterway is a public water, and that an environmental assessment worksheet is mandatory due to a proposed project's potential environmental impacts.
A Craftsman-style bungalow built in 1910 in Bird Island has been added to the National Register of Historic Places. Owned by the Bird Island Cultural Centre, the structure earned the spot on the list in April. After expected repairs are completed, it's hoped the building will be open to the public within the next two years.
