Our sincere sympathy to the family and friends of William L. "Bill" Peterson who died April 27, 2016, just one day short of his 72nd birthday. Services were held May 3 in Tucson, Ariz.

Congratulations to Dawn and Gil Kinnunen on their “200th Bicentennial Celebration” over the past weekend. That’s 70 birthdays for Gil, 60 birthdays for Dawn, 20 years of marriage, 40 years working, and 10 years of retirement. They had a great celebration and thank everyone who came or sent good wishes to them.
The Annual Mother-Daughter Tea will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Bethlehem Lutheran Wright. There will be special music, food, fun and fellowship with guest speaker Sherry Olson. Her message is “Who You Are Makes a BIG Difference.” Come and invite your friends, too! Sherry was a speaker in the area last summer and was very well received, so don’t miss this special day with your mothers and/or daughters and friends.
Senior Award Banquet at Cromwell-Wright School will take place at 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 9, with a meal and then the presentation of awards at 6:15 p.m. This is also the last class Lindsay Lally had before retiring from third grade.

The Annual Spring Rummage and Bake Sale will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, May 20, and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 21, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wright. Donations are cheerfully accepted.
The Wright Public Cemetery Clean-up will take place the morning of Saturday, May 7, just south of St. John’s and west of Bethlehem churches. If you have relatives buried there or have a family plot, your help is encouraged. The Eagle Lake Cemetery cleanup day will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 15, at the Eagle Lake Cemetery.
The Cromwell Summer Fest raffle tickets are now on sale in area businesses or from members of the Cromwell Area Community Club. This year the drawings are for first prize - a Henry Golden Boy .22 LR Rifle; second - 18 holes of golf with a cart for 4 at the Retreat in Floodwood; and third - $50 meat bundle from Wright Farmer’s Co-op Store.

Red Nose Day is a campaign dedicated to helping children and having fun. Proceeds benefit children and young people in the U.S. and some of the poorest communities in the world. Red is a campaign in May that is dedicated to raising money by simply having fun and making people laugh. Money raised is spent to help lift children and young people out of poverty in the United States and some of the poorest communities in the world. The Red Nose campaign has raised more than $1 billion globally in the last 25 years. Half of the money distributed by Red Nose Day 2016 will be spent right here in the United States. The other half will be spent in some of the poorest communities in Latin America, Asia and Africa. All money raised supports projects that ensure kids are safe, healthy and educated.
