Our sympathy to the family or Roger Harp, 86, of Cromwell who died March 24. Visitation is Saturday, April 1, from 1:30 p.m. until the 3 p.m. funeral at Bethany Lutheran Church.
Our sympathy to the family of Lyle Richard Jokinen, 60, of Sawyer who died March 23. Visitation is Friday, March 31, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service in Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet, followed by a luncheon at the funeral home.
Our sympathy to the Shelerud family on the death of their mom, wife, grandmother, etc., Pat, in a car accident on the way back from down south. What a shock for that family.

Our best wishes go out to Mary Hakamaki as she moves to Colorado at the end of the month. Mary, her late husband Gary, and son Evans were a vital part of our community for years and we thank them for all they did to make the Cromwell-Wright area a much better place to live and work. Mary will leave her post as church secretary at Bethany, too, so if you know anyone who would like this job, call the church or talk to the pastor. The position will start April 1 and it's about 10 hours a week.
Tri and Nan, our exchange students from Thailand and Viet Nam and who are hosted by Rick Gresczyk, were guests speakers at the YOT in Cromwell March 14. It was great to hear them tell about their countries and how they enjoy being in our area, too. They said they had a good time.
All women are invited to attend the Women of the ELCA Kettle River Spring Gathering from 9:30 a.m. to noon lunch Saturday, April 8, at Our Savior's in Cloquet. The program will include a service of Holy Communion, breakout session, and storyteller Gloria Anderson-Hegge.
My nephew Nathan Dahlman sustained a serious neck injury when skiing March 19 in Denver, Colo. He is recovering from surgery and his outcome looks good. The family is thankful for all the prayers and well wishes.
Last week I neglected to put Mary Dahlberg's name on the list of those who have passed away at Villa Vista for their memorial service.
Kindergarten Round Up is Friday, April 7, at Cromwell-Wright School. All children who are 5 or will turn 5 before Sept. 1, 2017 are able to attend. Call the school to register.
The Cromwell-Wright Dollars for Scholars' fourth annual fundraiser dinner is at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at the Cromwell Park Pavilion. Contact Kay Smith at 218-591-2860 for more information. Tickets are available in school office.
The residents from Villa Vista/Cardinal Court are holding their annual Good Friday service at 8:30 a.m. Friday, April 14, at Bethany Lutheran Church. Everyone is also encouraged to attend. A brunch of caramel and orange rolls, eggs, juice and coffee will be provided.
Yoga will be held from 11 a.m. to noon April 3, 17, 24 and May 1 and May 30 at the Cromwell Park Pavilion.
The CACC will sponsor a city-wide Clean-up Day in Cromwell Saturday, April 22, near the park area, a city-wide Rummage Sale on May 13, and the Summer Fest is planned for June 23-24. Donations are encouraged to help the Cromwell Area Community Club build a gazebo in the small park near Northview Bank this summer. Donations can be sent to CACC, 1775 Middle Road, Cromwell, MN 55726-8119. Donations can be made in honor or in memory of a loved one, too.
