Four young people were confirmed at the Evangelical Free Church in Wright on Sunday, March 25: Micah and Andrea Pocernich, Katharine Libbon and Ethan Shelton. They also received new Bibles.

Several young people received First Communion at Bethany and Bethlehem Lutheran churches Sunday, March 25: Zachary Kabus, Kayla and Cole Aho and Emelia Dahl from Wright and Drew Nyberg, Jimmy Lind and Larissa Homstad from Cromwell. Isabella Nyberg also took the classes, but will take her First Communion at a later date. Earlier in the month, they made their own Communion Bread and received the wine in a special communion cup from the holy land.

We have another octogenarian in the area: Kenny Kangas will celebrate his 80th birthday with an open house, cake and coffee at the SnoGophers building in Cromwell on Saturday, April 14, from 1-4 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Kenny, do you know what the best thing is about turning 80? You're not 90!

At the Cromwell-Wright School Board meeting Wednesday, March 21, it was decided by the Board of Directors that the school board minutes will appear three ways:

• Unapproved minutes will appear in the Voyageur Press, the school's legal newspaper, within 30 days of the meeting;

• A printed copy of the unapproved minutes will be placed in Cromwell and Wright along with the Bus Bulletins on Fridays at Farmers Coop in Wright, Wright Post Office, Cromwell Post Office and the Cromwell Self Serve; and

• Along with a stack being placed outside the school front office doors on the table, the unapproved minutes will also appear on the school website, isd95.org, when available.

The Cromwell-Wright Elementary 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament will be Saturday, April 14, at the school. All third- through sixth-graders are invited. Grab a couple of friends and get registered. We could also use adult help to referee. If you are interested, call or email Tonya at 218-460-9154 or tolesiak@isd95.org . All money from the tournament is used to keep our elementary basketball program free for everyone.

The Cromwell-Wright Dollars for Scholars Fundraiser Dinner will be Saturday April 14, at 5 p.m. at the pavilion. The menu will be pork loin and all the fixins'. Cost is $15 adults and $7 for age 12 and under. Tickets are available in the school office. Deadline is April 6 to purchase tickets. Proceeds from the dinner are used for Dollars for Scholars scholarships to our graduating seniors. Call Kay Smith with questions or to purchase tickets at 218-591-2860.
