As I sit down to write this week’s news, it’s interesting to note that I am now an official member of the “older generation.” With the recent death of my aunt, Irene Bolstad, all of my aunts and uncles, grandparents, etc., are gone, so that leaves my generation at the top of the seniority list in our family. Makes one think, doesn’t it? But, then I already have several great-nieces and -nephews so it’s just part of the circle of life. I guess we are fortunate to have had our older relatives as long as we did as so many of us have experienced the deaths of younger family members. Anyway, I hope I can be as important to my younger relatives as my ancestors were to me. I credit them for many of the important values in life that I hold dear.

“After all these years, you still make me laugh.”

Which reminds me, I took my grandkids to the Shrine Circus in Duluth on Sunday. And guess what? They still have elephants! The elephants were wonderful and I wonder how much longer they will be allowed to have these huge animals in the circus. They also had tigers, bears and dog acts. The circus was really great, much better than I remembered it from the last time I went years ago and we were sure glad we went.

That’s all the news from Lake Tellafewjokestoday and have fun this week.
