It appears the "no" people are being portrayed as the bad guys in the Wrenshall school spending plan ordeal. What lessons are being taught by the parents and teachers during this disagreement? The people in the group who are questioning the logic of the spending plan are not all the same. Most of them are highly educated and have worked hard for most of their lives. Many of them were teachers, nurses and other professionals in diverse fields. Some of them have worked in the trades and have paid taxes to support the school for more than 50 years.

During the last meeting at the school, we were shown how to control a meeting by tilting the table in your favor. You saw elders disrespected and people cut off in the middle of their presentation. You saw misinformation given out about Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College and Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet. You heard a teacher talking about the dangers of sharp clunks of steel sticking out and live exposed electrical wires in a building for young students. You heard politicians dance around the answering of questions about the massive utility tax hanging over the county's head.

Most of the people who are against the Wrenshall school spending plan have never even gone to a meeting or spoken a word publicly. The small group of people who have tried to inform the public are not organized and well-funded like the Grow Wrens group. They just started meeting when they heard about the horrific plan coming at a very bad time. Many of these people do not even know each other and have very different backgrounds. The only purpose of this group is to inform the voters of the facts we're facing.
