To the Editor:
I am a 1972 graduate of Wrenshall High School in a graduating class of 31 students. I've lived in Silver Brook Township all my life.
The taxpayers in the Wrenshall School District are still trying to pay off a remaining debt of $1,810,000 from the 1997 referendum, which we will be paying for the next 3 ½ years. Now, as everyone knows, we are being asked to support a $12.5 million referendum for the next 20 years.
Right now, my taxes are so high that every year my tax advisor, who lives in Esko, is shocked when I show her my property tax statement, and asks me, "Why are your taxes so high?" I think we all know why. Part of the cause is the Wrenshall school district.
I have to think of what the impact of passing this referendum will do to the taxpayers of Silver Brook Township, especially if the utilities win in court.

I think we need to keep up with school maintenance, pay off our debt, cap open enrollment, and vote "no" on April 18.
