To the Editor:
Recently on a flight from Iowa to Alaska in an old Piper Super Cub I had mechanical problems, forcing me to stay in Cloquet for a few days awaiting parts. The members of the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 1221, the airport staff and Northern Adventures Aviation were very helpful in getting me on my way. The whole aviation community was not only thoughtful but individuals drove me to get some things fixed at other airports and when it came time to reassemble everything there was a crew to lift, hold and push everything into place. I want to especially thank Rich Schimenek who made excellent contacts, John Welna who drove me around, Keith Hulen for offering a landing gear, Frank Vittorio for making sure everything was in place and tight, Bill Stone for hangar space and Quintan and Mike of the airport staff for taking the interruption in stride.
