To the Editor:
A challenge was put out to the quilting community by the "American Patchwork and Quilting" magazine, calling all quilters, sewers and crafters to bring in homemade pillowcases that would then be distributed to local facilities to comfort a person in need. The national goal was 1 million pillowcases.
The goal at MadKat Quilt Shop was 50 pillowcases, which would in turn be donated to Liberalis in Carlton. A huge thank-you to the women in the community for not only meeting that goal but going way beyond the 50 pillowcases. Because we reached our goal, we were happy to deliver the 50 pillowcases to Liberalis and are extending the challenge to Dec. 31. The next 50 pillowcases will be brought to Sunnyside Health Care Center for the residents to enjoy.
Thank you again for the donation of many beautiful, cheerful pillowcases. You made someone's day much brighter.
