To the Editor:
Paying $12 million to expand buildings when over one-third of the school population comes from outside the school district makes poor economic sense for the two-thirds who will have to pay the freight.
Nothing in this plan addresses the current problem, which is classroom size. Time for the Wrenshall School district to cap classrooms to under 20 children and forget this foolish expensive expansion based on further growth from the student exodus from non-paying districts that may or may not continue.
This plan, to us, is as poorly designed as the "Red Plan" Duluth passed that we think has been a financial disaster for Duluth taxpayers.
