Greetings from Carlton Community Education!

Spring is in the air and the days are getting longer. Yay! It is always an exciting time of year in northern Minnesota. With spring usually comes a lot of activity in Community Education, although last spring was not the normal hustle and bustle, this year is shaping up to be a lot busier.

Yoga class begins April 8

Carlton Community Education is excited to be offering classes for our community and surrounding communities to enjoy this month! We have a new yoga class, yin yoga, beginning Thursday, April 8, with the option to attend in person or virtually.

Learn to make cards April 15

There is a card-making class April 15. Participants will make gorgeous, handmade cards. They can be shared with your loved ones and the best part about this class is that there is no level of craftiness needed-anyone can do it.

Bird-watching class coming up

Those looking for a new hobby or just wanting to hone their bird-watching skills might like to join the virtual birding class in April and May, which also may include some local, outdoor hikes to spot some birds.

Container-gardening classes return

And lastly, it is exciting to be partnering with The Green House in Carlton to offer the popular container-gardening classes. There will be eight classes offered over the course of six days the week of April 19. It is an excellent way to get a jumpstart on planting some of your deck planters while soaking in the spring beauty that surrounds you at The Green House this time of year.

The deadline to register for the container-gardening classes is Friday, April 9, so don’t delay.

Carlton, Wrenshall partner for Family Ball

The community education programs from Carlton and Wrenshall are continuing our partnership to provide a combined event, a Family Ball, on May 1. It is the COVID-19 solution we came up with to combine both events we typically host, the Father-Daughter Ball and the Mother-Son Gala, as a way to still offer something to the families.

Attendees will have designated times to arrive and will have the opportunity for a professional photo or photo booth snapshots, they will then dance a few dances and grab some goodie bags as they head out the door.

Families will then stop by the Streetcar Kitchen and Pub in town and pick up a meal to enjoy with each other at home. The deadline for this event is Friday, April 9. Carlton and Wrenshall families are welcome to attend, but must be preregistered. Please contact me if you have any questions.
