Greetings from Carlton Community Education!
Fall is definitely upon us and classes and programming for Community Education are in full swing, although there wasn’t much of a break over the summer!
Our summer was packed with awesome opportunities for students, adults and families. We held three different camps for children to participate in: there was STEM Camp Jr., STEM Camp and Summer Learning Camp: Adventures for your Brain!
Two of these camps were held in June and one was held at the beginning of August. Numbers were strong and campers and staff alike were BUSY! We had a total of 120 students participate among the three camps.

Carlton Community Education also sponsored the Bubble Dance Party that took place following the parade during Carlton Daze. It was a popular event that attracted many kids of varying ages. They danced like crazy and enjoyed being surrounded in bubbles!
Another popular event that was back this summer was National Night Out, which was on Tuesday, Aug. 3, in the center of Carlton. It was great to be back enjoying time together as a community!
Currently we have classes being offered for a variety of ages. Tae Kwon Do, Yoga, Deco Mesh Wreath Creations and more!
We just rolled out a “pop-up” class on the subject of Mushroom Foraging. The response for the class was overwhelming and it was quickly full with a long waiting list. There may be another Mushroom Foraging class happening soon — check our Facebook page and website for more details! This class is a two-night event, with one night in the classroom learning about different mushrooms and tips and tricks for hunting them. The second night consists of a guided hike foraging for your own mushrooms!
Other pop-up classes may be rolled out in the future on varying topics.
Please check regularly, via our Facebook page or website , to see what classes and other events are out there for you to participate in.
