For those of you who may have noticed in your recently mailed Lumber Log, the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Pine Valley has once again been canceled. We anticipate an Easter Egg Hunt returning in 2022.

We know how disappointing this is, so for this year, we are doing an Easter coloring activity instead. Kindergarten to sixth grade children have already participated at the schools. Every student was given the opportunity to color their picture and turn it in. They received a bag of snacks to enjoy as well. After the pictures were collected, there was a random drawing for each classroom of a grand prize. If you received one of the prizes, congratulations!

But hey, what about the little ones? No worries, you get to participate as well. Stop by the Cloquet Community Education office, Door 2, at the middle school the week of April 5 to pick up a picture. You can also go to our website to download and print a picture as well. Return your artwork by April 12 to be entered into the drawing for children age 1 to preschool.

ECFE/SR registration underway

Speaking of little ones, the Cloquet Early Childhood Family Education & School Readiness program has begun registration for the 2021-22 school year. We have fun class opportunities for families with kids age 0-5. Classes are set up to engage children and work on skills to help them grow and learn about themselves and the world around them. We also have opportunities for grandparents to attend and special event evenings throughout the year.

If you are new to the area, have a new baby at home or a new address please give us a call today so we can make sure your family is counted in our census. Families on the census receive valuable information regarding early childhood screening, district services and kindergarten roundup. For more information on the census or Early Childhood Family Education and School Readiness, please call 218-879-9291.
