The Moose Lake AGE to age Community Garden and Orchard wrapped up another successful year and also officially became an orchard, as six fruit trees were planted last spring.

Local Carlton County Master Gardeners taught a class on how to get the most out of your raised bed and our Mini Moose Lodge Daycare cared for a box and learned “100 ways to eat zucchini." Dry weather provided lots of intergenerational watering opportunities.

We were also a stop on the Carlton County Master Garden Tour and all of the raised beds were used to full capacity.

If you’re interested in renting a raised bed next season please contact me at the Moose Lake Community Education office, 218-485-4435 ext. 1602) or vicki.radzak@isd97.org. The cost is $20 for the year, and water and soil are provided.

Next time you’re in Moose Lake, check out the garden located behind the Moose Lake Community School bus garage, 4812 County Road 10, Moose Lake.
