Activities for students are back!

Our after school clubs, youth driver education and youth sports are all back and running with pre-pandemic enrollment numbers. In fact, we have waiting lists for nearly all of our activities, which has caused some disappointment for our students. We ask that families remain patient as community education programs in the area work to increase programming to meet the needs of our students.

In Esko, we plan clubs and classes months in advance, and we are consistently guessing as to how many opportunities to offer the community in order to meet the needs of our families and instructors. We won’t always get it right. We appreciate your kindness and understanding regarding waiting lists and maximum numbers allowed for clubs and classes.

We are proud to offer after school clubs provided by Northern Outdoors Club (N.O.C.) owned and operated by Esko resident Cassie Janke. Check out Facebook to look at the many opportunities N.O.C. offers outside of after school clubs in Esko. In November, we have Campfire Cooking, Compass Navigation, TimeTravel, and Basket Weaving all offered through Northern Outdoors Club ranging in price from $12 to $17 per session. Esko families are able to register online.

Youth basketball registration is also open for online registration through Sunday, Nov. 7. Picture day is Nov. 20.

Our school age care program is running a fundraiser in the month of November to raise money for a new Lego table and Legos for the program. We are offering a make-your-own-stuffed animal kit called Adopt-a Pet. Children can choose from a sloth, a kangaroo, a bear, a dog and more. Registration is open online.

Finally, in an effort to bring kindness to our community, we are offering a "Mom & Me" art class to paint rocks with messages of inspiration and kindness to add to Community Education’s “KINDNESS ROCKS” garden on the side of our building. The class is Tuesday, Nov. 9. For $10, you and your child can make two rocks; one to put in our garden and one to keep or share. Let’s spread kindness around like confetti!

As always, call our office at 879-4038 with any questions and follow us on social media to stay updated on our programs.
