Esko Community Education has a couple of new programs that we are excited to share with the county.

Beginning Feb. 26 and running through March, we are offering an open basketball hour for adults on Wednesdays from 8-9 p.m. It costs $5 per week to participate and you need to register online each week.

We will have a staff member in the practice wood gym checking people in who show up and play. We are asking that all attendees be out of high school. Registration is online through the Esko School website: Click on Community Education, Registration, Adults, and Sports and Fitness.

We are also starting a boys high school volleyball team. The cost per player is $195 and is open to boys in grades 9-12 in Esko, Carlton and Wrenshall. The season runs from April 6 through May 17. The team will be eligible to qualify for a state tournament. Each team will play 10-12 games. Join us in the boys volleyball movement. Registration is online. Questions regarding boys volleyball can be sent to eskoboysvolleyball@gmail.com.

We have a variety of classes each month for adults and students. On Feb. 20, we are offering a board sign class taught by Sheila Fetters. You choose your own saying and design, and Sheila will make it happen for you. The cost is $5 paid to Esko Community Education online and $30 due to Sheila at the class.

Stay informed of what Esko has to offer by following us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram @EskoCommEd. We also have a great blog about parenting blunders, funny stories and inspiration you can find on our website.

Community Education is a great avenue to try new activities and meet new people in your community. We hope to see you at an upcoming class.

"Community Education Corner," published weekly in the Pine Journal, features news from Community Education programs in Carlton County.
