I hope this finds you well and fully enjoying this festive season. December is traditionally a quieter time of year for classes and other programming due to the hustle and bustle it brings for everything else. It is also a great time to plan and prep for the months ahead!

Coming in adult enrichment, we are excited to be offering two new yoga classes. We have two instructors who are excited to be teaching Community Education classes and will be offering a beginner yoga class and a restorative yoga class. These are scheduled to begin the end of January and will be held on Sunday and Tuesday evenings.

Yoga is well-known for being good for the mind, body and soul while relieving stress and anxiety. Who couldn’t benefit from all of that?

We will also continue to offer some fun and unique art offerings through our partnership with a local shop, The Lumberjack and the Gypsy. This fall, we had a couple very successful Instapot classes and plan to offer more in the new year, so if you get one of these handy kitchen appliances for Christmas, you may want to attend one of our very informative and delicious classes to learn more.

There will be many other offerings as well in the coming months, be sure to check them out!

Our Kids Care program is currently looking for a new coordinator. If you are interested, please look for the job posting in this paper or contact us for more information. The Kids Care program is run year-round and is open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. It provides quality care to any children ages 33 months or older and who are potty-trained.

Your child does not need to be attending classes in our district or live within the district to benefit from the care this program provides. Kids Care is also a certified center with the State of Minnesota, so we are able to accept county assistance payments. Please call 218-384-4225 ext. 215 for more information.

I look forward to sharing more about our programming in the months to come. In the meantime, feel free to like our Carlton Community Education page on Facebook; find information at www.carlton.k12.mn.us/parents-community/community-education/index; and I always welcome phone calls and emails at 218-384-4225 ext. 213 or drose@carlton.k12.mn.us.
