William James McCausland

William (Bill) James McCausland, 85, passed away peacefully at Viewcrest Health Center in Duluth on Monday, October 26, 2020. Bill was born on October 13, 1935 in Cloquet, Minnesota to Ruth (Thompson) McCausland and Thomas McCausland. Bill was a graduate of Carlton High School and Hamline University. After serving in the United States Army, Bill had a long career as a Minnesota state health inspector. Upon retiring Bill moved to San Diego. Bill loved the great outdoors, nature, was an avid bird watcher. He enjoyed leading many Audubon Society bird watching field trips throughout the San Diego region and even authored a bird watching book that the Audubon Society still uses to this day.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ruth and William McCausland; and his brother John McCausland. Bill is survived by his brother George McCausland (Cloquet) and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
