Philip M. Lippo
Philip Lippo, 78, of Cromwell passed away in his home on Friday, December 13, 2019, with family at his side. Phil was born near Frederick, South Dakota, to Matt and Lola Lippo. He grew up and attended school in Cromwell. He joined the Marine Corps in 1960 and served with the military police at Lemoore, California, until he was honorably discharged in 1964.
Phil and Delores “Dee” Peterson Bridge were married in Cromwell in 1970. They farmed near Tamarack and operated Dee’s Café in Cromwell. Phil also worked for Carpenters’ Local 361 until his retirement. He served with the Cromwell Volunteer Fire Department and on the Cromwell City Council for over 30 years.
Dee passed away on October 18, 1986. Phil and Dawn Monson wed in 1989. Phil enjoyed hunting and the outdoors, and the couple were active members of The Cromwell SnoGophers and The Evergreen Pac ATV Club. Following retirement, they enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.
Philip was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Delores; and brothers, Darold, Gerald, Andy and Lee Lippo.
He is survived by his wife Dawn; son, Craig (Susie) Lippo; stepchildren, Mack (Trina) Bridge, Steve (Shari) Bridge, Greg (Sue) Bridge, and Linda Entzi; sister, Margaret ”Peg” Karppinen; brother, Gary (Mary) Lippo; sisters-in-law, Junice Lippo and Judy Lippo; ten grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 19, 2019 in Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. A time of lunch and fellowship will follow in the church social hall.
