Grant M. Gault, age 65, of Alexandria, died on Monday, December 27, 2021, at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, December 31, 2021, at New Life Christian Church in Alexandria with Pastor John Taplin officiating. Grant’s service will be livestreamed on his obituary page on the funeral home website. Interment will be held at a later date at Silver Brook Cemetery, Wrenshall.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m., Thursday at New Life Christian Church and one hour prior to the service.

Grant Maynard was born on April 11, 1956, to August and Dorothy (Fjosne) Gault in Duluth, Minnesota. He grew up on a farm in Wrenshall and attended Wrenshall High School. He played baseball, football, basketball, and chess. He worked at Diamond Match in Cloquet, and Superior Hospital in Superior, Wisconsin. In 1978, he moved to Alexandria, where he worked at Crestwood Golf Course. In 1979, he started his 42-year career at Arrowwood Resort. Grant enjoyed fishing, golfing, and flea markets. He very much enjoyed spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids. Grant’s life in all areas was centered around his faith in Jesus, the love of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, the gift of eternal life because of what Jesus did for Him.

Grant was preceded in death by his parents; and four unborn grandkids.

Grant is survived by his loving wife, Laurie; children, Beth (Matthew), Sarah, Peter, Debbie, and Mary (Jeremiah); grandchildren, Maggie, A.J., Naomi, Matthew Jr., Thea Rose and Carmen Willow; Allie and Elijah who were like grandkids to Grant, their mother Julie (Stephen); Peyton and Agnes who also were like grandkids to him, and their mother Dominica; brothers, Ron (Dar) and Jim (Rosalie); sisters, Linda (Daryl) and Cindy (Dwayne); nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, other relatives and friends. Grant loved them all!

Grant thanked God for all his blessings. Praise Jesus!

Urnbearers are his children.

Memorials are preferred to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
