Margaret "Marge" "Tudy" Sorensen
Margaret, "Marge" or "Tudy", Sorensen of Carlton, passed away February 8, 2019 at the age of 97 in Inter-Faith Care Center, Carlton. Born on January 29, 1922 in Clinton, Iowa, Marge was the youngest of eight children born to Albert and Caroline (Raun) Holm. She attended and graduated from Clinton, Iowa schools. After graduation she worked as an operator for Bell Telephone in Clinton.
On May 3, 1941, Marge married her husband, Donald Sorensen, in Brookfield, Missouri. In 1948, they moved their family of four children to Minnesota and settled in Esko where she lived until the death of her husband in 1994. Marge then moved into an apartment in Cloquet and later to Pine View Apartments in Carlton.
She was a former employee of Super Valu and Disco Foods in Cloquet in the meat departments and was a member of United Food and Commercial Workers Union. Marge enjoyed gardening, music, card playing and gatherings with family and friends. She especially enjoyed her evenings at the Cloquet VFW playing the meat boards and pull tabs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 53 years, Donald; four brothers, Albert, Arthur, Harry and Edgar and three sisters, Marian Andersen, Mildred Huebner and Caryl Lawson.
Marge is survived by three sons, Don, Jr. (Barb) of Little Falls, Dick (Pat) and Gary (Julie) both of McGregor; her daughter, Judy (Dan) Somrock of Bemidji; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and special friends and caregivers, Shirley and Pam Hagenah, Arlene Nephew, and the late Dugan Nephew.
