Jerry attended high school in Cloquet, Minnesota and after graduation in May of 1945, he enlisted in the Army and served in Korea as an MP. After discharge, Jerry attended the University of Minnesota and while there, he married his sweetheart, Lois Anderson. After graduating with a degree in business, he began work in his father's furniture store, in Cloquet and soon had 3 children. Jerry had a passion for life and loved trying new things. After working in the family business for several years, he formed a leasing company, started a new bank and purchased a second bank and the local newspaper. In the late 1970's, he sold his holdings and in 1980, he and Lois moved to Incline Village, Nevada where he designed and built a passive solar home overlooking Lake Tahoe. He and Lois lived there for the next 30 years where he enjoyed skiing, hiking, hunting, flying his small private plane and hosting gatherings with friends and family. Travel was Jerry's other passion and he and Lois were able to travel to many countries throughout the world and US destinations as well as enjoying many ocean cruises. Jerry moved to Boise, ID, near his son Randy, in 2014 and until a month ago, would always insist he felt like he was 37 years old. His favorite quote was from Helen Keller - "Life is either an exciting adventure or it is nothing." The family will have a private memorial, to remember Jerry's life.
