David William Rosen

David William Rosen, 66 of Cloquet, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Viewcrest Health Center with his family by his side. He was born in Duluth to Robert and Aletha (Schmidt) Rosen. Dave graduated from UMD with his education degree and continued to complete his master's in education. He was employed with the Carlton School District for 38 years as a social studies teacher. Dave was an avid Minnesota sports fan and especially optimistic about the Vikings. He was passionate about golfing and won numerous championships at the Cloquet Country Club over the years. Dave took up biking when his illness took golfing away from him; he logged and recorded many miles over the years. He was meticulous about his lawn and waxing his cars. The most famous was 500 coats of wax on the 2003 Camry. Dave always had a wave and smile as people passed by his house on the way to the golf course.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rebekah Rosen; father in-law Donald and mother in-law, Bernice Bertrand. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Laura; daughters, Lindsay and Claire Rosen; his siblings, Mark (Karen); Stephen (Janet); twin Daniel (Monica); Michael; Timothy (Beth); Thomas (Taina); Rachelle (Paul) Jensen; and John Rosen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Friday January 11, 2019 in Nelson Funeral Care. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am Saturday January 12, 2019 at Queen of Peace Catholic church, with a visitation one hour prior to the service in the church.
