Nancie Paulson passed away peacefully Thursday, August 1st. She was born December 8th, 1938 to Philip and Hulda Paulson in Cloquet, Minnesota. Nancie was a strong and courageous woman who treasured her family and friends. She was a life-long teacher who taught with passion and a sense of humor. She loved all her students. “Especially the naughty ones” she would say with a twinkle in her eye. After graduating from Carlton High School, then University of Minnesota, Duluth, Nancie was a parish worker in Kalispell, Montana before enlisting as a missionary teacher in Brazil. Nancie went on to teach elementary school in Brainerd, Minnesota for 34 years. She loved world travel and brought joy wherever she went. In addition to participating in many civic organizations, Nancie was active at Bethlehem Lutheran and graced many services and special occasions with her exceptional voice. Nancie is preceded in death by her sisters Hazel Maxwell and Ardelle (Edward) Thornton, and brothers Harold (Norma), Carl (Inga) and Franklyn (Patty). She is survived by sister Phyllis (Roy) Bohren and brother, Richard (Geraldine) and many nieces and nephews, god children, and precious friends. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with visitation beginning the hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Sandy Lake Cemetery in Carlton, MN. Arrangements with Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd.
