Volunteers, multiple agencies help find missing child
Thirteen agencies participated in an extensive, five-hour search for a missing child in Carlton County on Friday. The child was found safe Friday night.
The Carlton County Sheriff's Office reported it received a call at 3:30 p.m. Friday for a missing 6-year-old child who was last seen an hour earlier near a wood line on the family's property on South Finn Road in Lakeview Township, south of Wright.
The child was found by a volunteer searcher in the wooded area in good health, according to the sheriff's office. The child was reunited with the family and did not need medical attention.
Assisting the sheriff's office and community volunteers in the search were the Cromwell Fire Department, Wright Fire Department, Life Link III, St. Louis County Rescue Squad, Aitkin County Sheriff's Posse, Carlton County Posse, St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, Aitkin County Sheriff's Office, Minnesota State Patrol, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Enforcement Division, Cloquet Police Department and Fond du Lac Tribal Police Department.
