Nurse recognized for excellence
The Minnesota Nurses Association Committee on Honors and Awards and the Board of Directors has selected Amy (Dahl) Sportel to receive the 2014 Ruth L. Hass Excellence in Practice Award. This award honors the nurse involved in direct nursing care who has demonstrated expert knowledge and practice in a selected clinical area of nursing and is recognized by her peers as a role model of sustained, consistent high quality nursing practice.
Sportel received the award at the Minnesota Nurses Convention Awards Banquet on Monday, Oct. 13, at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center.
Sportel has 14 years of experience in critical care and is currently employed at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minn. she is a graduate of Cromwell-Wright High School and the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. She and her husband, Ryan, have two children and live in Inver Grove Heights, Minn. Sportel is the daughter of Barb and Tim Dahl of Wright.
