Krista Nielsen of Woodhull, Ill., and Luke Johnson of Esko, Minn., were united in marriage Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, in Homewood Evangelical Church in Moline, Ill.
Parents of the couple are Jim and Naomi Nielsen of Woodhull and Phil and Robin Johnson of Esko.
The new bride is a 2004 home-school graduate, a 2006 graduate of Association Free Lutheran Bible School in Plymouth, Minn., and a 2008 graduate of Blackhawk College in Moline, where she earned an associate's degree. She is currently employed at Hobby Lobby in Fargo, N.D.
The new groom is a 2005 graduate of Esko High School, a 2007 graduate of Association Free Lutheran Bible School in Plymouth and a 2009 graduate of Itasca Community College, where he earned an Associate of Science degree in engineering. He is currently a student at North Dakota State University in Fargo, N.D., majoring in civil engineering.
The bride chose her sister Clara Nielsen of Woodhull as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were her sister Katrina Nielsen of Woodhull and the groom's sisters, Bethany Johnson and Olivia Johnson, both of Esko.

The groom chose his brother, Joey Johnson of Esko, as his best man. Groomsmen were his friends, Justin Strand of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada, David Oesterreich of Fargo and Jeff Risbudt of Fergus Falls, Minn.
Following a honeymoon trip to Sheboygan, Wis., along Lake Michigan, the couple now resides in Fargo.
